The first phase of the tournament is scheduled in UAE where 20 matches of the tournament will be played at 3 International cricket venues with the likes of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. Each team in the league will play 5 matches in this phase of the tournament and this phase will start with the match between IPL 6 Champions Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders on 16th of April 2018 at Abu Dhabi. The first phase of the tournament will end on 30th of April 2018 with the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match 1 of the tournament is scheduled between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at Shiekh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi and will start at 18:30 local time and 14:30 GMT.

Five of the 20 matches in this phase will be day matches and the rest fifteen will be Day/Night fixtures. On 30th of April 2018, last match of phase 1 will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium where Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Mumbai Indians.
